You’ll work with a team of people who “do the right thing.” You’ll be a part of an entire organization that will never be satisfied with the status quo and will always look for ways to improve and be more efficient while taking care of the customer.?   The RoleThe Swine Nutritionist will provide nutritional expertise on-farm and in-barn to Connect OnFarm consultants and their customers through innovation, creation, and implementation of their specialized nutritional requirements. You will work closely with brand consultants and their customers to analyze swine nutritional needs based on industry standards and implement feeding strategies to maximize production and reproduction performance. You are a key team member in building customer loyalty while helping COF revolutionize the feed industry in Western Canada. Primary Roles and Responsibilities Animal nutrition specialist; on-farm and in-barn animal consultingCreate nutrition programs that are customized to each facility factoring in genetics, available feedstuffs, ventilation systems, water and environmentProvide hands-on and practical knowledge of animal husbandry managementEvaluate animal performance recordProvide regular reports to customers about efficiencies and progressEvaluate on-farm feed mills and set up programs to utilize equipmentUtilize current and new technology to optimize nutritional modelling (ration balancing) to improve our understanding of feed ingredients and feed additives and to support the implementation of monitoring programs which improve the customer’s profitabilityCollaborate closely with the poultry-focused Monogastric Nutritionist to develop custom nutritional solutions for Connect OnFarm customers' requirementsWork directly with our consulting nutritionists to provide leading-edge nutrition consultation and value-added management support to progressive monogastric producersWork directly with the Procurement and Formulation teams to identify new feed ingredient opportunities and ensure nutritional accuracy within the formulation systemPrepare and present technical presentations to a broad range of audiences e.g. producers, consulting nutritionists and industry professionalsParticipate in the development of new and innovative nutritional productsMaintain current knowledge of scientific and industry developments, trends and issues impacting our customers and the feed industryRepresent the company in a professional manner at trade shows, conferences and scientific meetingsDevelop and maintain relationships with other industry advisors, including veterinarians, and feed ingredient suppliersOther duties as assigned  Skills & Experience RequiredAdvanced understanding of swine nutrition and farm management practicesPositive attitude with outstanding interpersonal skills and the ability to create satisfied internal and external customersStrong verbal communication skills with the flexibility, diplomacy and adaptability to work with various personality typesGoal-oriented team player who is open to learning, challenging and improvingStrong time management and organizational skillsDisplay honesty, integrity and a strong sense of ethics in all decisions and actionsPossess the consultative selling skills required to sell and service monogastric customersResourceful with strategic and analytical capabilitiesOutstanding interpersonal skills and the ability to establish/maintain effective relationships with coworkers and customersSelf-starter with the ability to work independently and as part of the Connect OnFarm team; you believe in making others more successfulFlexible, adaptable and able to thrive in a fast-paced and ever-changing environment  Qualifications includeBSc or MSc degree in Monogastric Nutrition or Animal AgricultureMinimum 3-years’ experience in swine nutritionColony experience an assetExperience with swine ration balancing and nutritional modellingFeed Formulation experience would be beneficialIntermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office applications Role LocationExpected to reside within an area allowing easy access to business facilities and customers (within the Canadian Prairie Provinces) A Little About Us!Since 2005, More Than Feed and its family of Brands have proudly served Western Canada’s feed industry with high-quality products and services.
