If so, the Ministry of Agriculture and Irrigation has a unique, and exciting opportunity for you. Reporting to the Manager Production Economics, as the Senior Economic Modeller, you will be the provincial authority on economic research, modeling, and analysis. As lead of the economic modeling unit, you will develop and maintain sophisticated agri-economic models and databases, which provide the basis for sound legislation and policy development and decision-making for Alberta. Key Responsibilities:Develop and maintain sophisticated economic models for the agricultural sector.Design, implement, and manage complex databases to support economic analysis.Conduct advanced research on economic modeling techniques and methodologies.Lead and supervise a team of economic modellers. Requirements:Master’s degree in Agricultural Economics, with focus on quantitative analysis, computer programing and modeling or in a related field such as Economics, Agriculture, or related science.At least 4 (four) years of directly related experience.Membership or eligibility for membership with AIA (Alberta Institute of Agrologists).
