And we foster a supportive, people-first work environment."We know the confidence gap can get in the way of meeting spectacular candidates, so please don't hesitate to apply - we'd love to hear from you."General Purpose and Scope of Position: The Maintenance Technician-Millwright (MTMW) will perform a variety of maintenance tasks to support maintenance, material handling, and production, as well as perform facility maintenance.Key Skills and Abilities Include: High school DiplomaTechnical expertise gained from three (3) to five (5) years of experience working as an Industrial Mechanic Millwright (Trade Code 433A) in an industrial environment securing Level 1 or Level 2 of the Skilled Trades Ontario Apprenticeship Program.Recognized trade school / community college with a minimum of one (1) year certification Millwright program ideally with co-op work experience.Ability to weld primarily 304SS and 316SS grades with some carbon steel.Excellent verbal and written communication skills.Ability to analyze and troubleshoot problems, to recommend solutions and to initiate repairs.High level of safety awareness and willingness to participate in site safety programs.Understanding of Microsoft Office Suite including Microsoft Teams.Flexibility to adapt to changing work priorities to achieve production goals.High level of organization skills and commitment to good housekeeping.Knowledge of the standard methods, practices, materials, tools and equipment of the millwright trade.Key Personal Attributes Include: Able to lift 23 kilograms (50 pounds) without restrictions and occasionally equipment that weighs Strong commitment to safety leadership and willingness to participate in workplace inspections to identify workplace hazards and implement mitigations.Knowledge of the occupational hazards and safety precautions applicable to the work of the trade.Able to operate Power Assisted Industrial trucks (i.e. forklifts, elevated work platforms, telehandlers)Comfortable working at heights in various weather conditions.Able to wear appropriate fall arrest harness while working at heights.Able to tolerate ambient temperature extremes during summer and winter seasons.Able to stand, stoop, bend, kneel, climb and work in tiring and uncomfortable positions.Ability to understand and execute oral and written instructions and to interpret technical plans and specifications.Ontario motor vehicle Class G license is a minimal requirement.Awareness of PPE requirements for working with hazardous chemicals.Specific Responsibilities and Key Deliverables Include: Installing, maintaining, dismantling and repairing new and existing machinery or equipment and its components.Performs general maintenance and repair duties on a variety of facility systems: General pump rebuilds, Pump and motor alignment, Pump seal replacement, General pipe fitting and stainless tubing assembly,Valve replacement or repairSafely operates hand and power tools and complies with safety requirements including use of appropriate PPE while using tools.Safely operates hoisting equipment to install equipment.Trained to work with a wide array of precision tools.Recommends measures to improve maintenance methods and equipment performance.Understands company policies and enforces safety regulations such as lockout/tagoutExamine and diagnose equipment for excessive vibration, temperature and speed and lubrication abnormalities under operating conditions.Adjusts pulleys, belts and drive units as required.Perform boiler tests including testing water for hardness, dissolved solids, add chemicals as required, testing humidity, analyzing flue gas and gauging pressure of gas pilots.Interpret layouts, drawings, blueprints and manufacturer's specifications.Erect, construct and level frameworks, foundations and anchors for equipment.Recommends and maintains production machinery and related equipment parts inventory and replacement parts.maintains production machinery and related equipment parts inventory and replacement parts.Compensation and Benefits: In compliance with requiring transparency of pay, the base compensation for this position ranges from $$23.41 - $31.24/hr. Note that compensation may vary based on location, skills, and experience.
