South, Timmins, Ontario P4R 1N4 Title of Position: Machinist (NOC 72100) Language: English Vacancies: 2 Type of Position: Permanent, full time Job Duties: · Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and technical documents to determine machining operations and specifications. · Set up and operate a variety of machine tools, including CNC (Computer Numerically Controlled) machines, to perform precision machining tasks (e.g., milling, drilling, grinding). · Compute dimensions and tolerances, and measure and lay out workpieces using precision tools. · Monitor machine operations to ensure accuracy and conformance to specifications. · Fit and assemble machined parts and subassemblies using hand and power tools. · Perform routine machine maintenance and troubleshoot issues to ensure minimal downtime. · Maintain a clean and safe working environment, adhering to company safety protocols and standards. Skills Required: · Strong knowledge of machining processes, materials, and tools. · Ability to read and interpret technical documents, drawings, and blueprints. · Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills. · Ability to work independently and in a team environment. Experience Required: · 3-5 years of experience (experience in the drilling or mining industry an asset). · Proficiency in operating CNC and manual machine tools. Education Required: · Completion of secondary school. · Certification in a machinist apprenticeship program is an asset.
