Location of Work: 888 Regent St., Suite 205, Sudbury, Ontario P3E6C6 Combination of remote work, travelling to client sites, field work, and attending conferences Title of Position: Geomechanics Specialist (NOC 21331) Language: English Vacancies: 2 Type of Position: Permanent, full time Job Duties: · Carry out oriented core logging, and define geotechnical domains. · Use of stereographic projections for the development of discontinuity orientation sets. · Use empirical methods and numerical analyses to evaluate stress and deformations related to surface and/or underground excavations. · Interpretation of surface and subsurface monitoring data. · Plan, develop and coordinate engineering studies and field investigation programs according to project needs and client requirements, keeping records of activities through reports or other deliverables. · Carry out numerical modelling, analyze results and effectively communicate results to colleagues and clients. · Respond and attend to both internal and external requests in a positive manner, fulfilling the defined scope accurately and within the required timelines. · Work collaboratively with team members to develop high quality deliverables that meet the project objectives. · Be self-directed, managing and completing assignments on time and on budget. · Understand, support, and abide by all required Health and Safety guidelines and promote the Company health and safety culture. · Excellent technical writing skills to contribute to the development of proposals and other technical deliverables. · Promote our core values of teamwork, professionalism, quality, learning, innovation, fairness and shared responsibility for our business. Experience Required: · 3 to 5 years of relevant experience. Education Required: · A bachelor's degree in geological, geotechnical, geomechanics, mining, civil engineering or in a related discipline is required. Wage & Hours: $92,000 - 120,000 CAD annually depending on experience · Number of hours per day: 8 · Number of days per week: 5 · Number of hours per week: 40 · Overtime starts after: 44 · Shift rotation: On occasion, you may be required to work additional hours during the workweek or weekends.
