We are currently looking to add two more autobody mechanics at 2926 St Johns St, Port Moody, BC V3H 1Z7. Job Duties 1. Repair and Replace Damaged Parts o Repair and replace front end components, body components, doors and frame and underbody components o Fix dents, scratches, and other structural damage on vehicles. o Replace damaged panels, doors, fenders, and bumpers. o Repair or replace damaged glass, mirrors, and trim components. o Hammer out dents, buckles and other defects using blocks and hammers 2. Welding and Fabrication o Weld and fabricate metal or aluminum components. o Cut, shape, and install replacement parts using hand and power tools. 3. Painting and Finishing o Prepare vehicles surfaces for painting (sanding, priming, masking). o File, grind and sand repaired body surfaces using hand and power tools o Mask and tape auto body surfaces in preparation for painting o Apply paint, clear coats, and protective finishes. o Perform color matching and blending techniques. 4. Frame and Structural Repairs o Straighten and align vehicles frames and chassis. o Use hydraulic tools to reshape and reinforce vehicles body components. 5. Mechanical and Electrical Repairs o Install or repair lighting, wiring, and electrical components. o Ensure proper function of doors, locks, and hydraulic systems. 6. Customization and Modifications o Install custom vehicle bodies, toolboxes, racks, and accessories. o Modify vehicles for specific industry needs (e.g., cars and SUV trucks). 7. Inspection and Quality Control o Perform detailed inspections of vehicles to identify issues. o Ensure all repairs meet industry and safety standards. 8. Customer Service and Documentation o Communicate with customers or supervisors about repair needs. o Maintain records of repairs, parts used, and work completed. Employment requirements o Completion of secondary school is must. o 3 years of work experience in the auto body and collision technician trade and completion of a professional or college automotive body repair program or 4 year auto body and collision damage technician apprenticeship program is required. o Trade certification for auto body and collision technician will be an asset to have, but not mandatory. o Good communication skills in English are required. o Class 5 driver's license will be an asset to have, but not mandatory. o Proficiency in bodywork repair tools and equipment. o Knowledge of automotive painting techniques. o Ability to read blueprints and technical manuals. o Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
