This role will ideally be located near Florenceville, New Brunswick as we work closely with our research farm there for trials, or in another one of our growing regions in North America with a willingness to travel.?McCain Foods is seeking a Senior Manager of Global Variety Development to lead and manage relationships with key external partners such as potato variety breeders, universities, and institutes. This strategic role focuses on securing and developing new potato varieties to provide a competitive edge for McCain Foods. The position involves global management and maintenance of variety product profiles that meet both current and future strategic demands.??Key Responsibilities:- Lead and develop strategic partnerships with external partners to secure and develop new potato varieties.- Manage global and regional teams to solve problems and create strategies that promote the growth and movement of new potato varieties within the McCain network.- Oversee variety agreements, introductions, and customer approvals.- Lead a team to execute new variety agreements, support reporting on new varieties, and produce insights from the global variety database to guide strategic decision-making.- Establish and maintain dashboards and other data analysis outputs to facilitate global information exchange.- Facilitate the commercialization process for new potato varieties.- Serve as an expert in potato variety and agronomy for Regional Agriculture teams and other McCain functions.?Qualifications:Academic:- Required: Bachelor of Science in Agriculture- Preferred: Master's in Agriculture, Business Management, or Business StrategyProfessional/Technical Accreditations:- Required: P.Ag, 5+ years of experience in potato crop production- Preferred: Credential in Leadership and Business Management, Certified Crop AdvisorRelated Work Experience:- Extensive experience in relationship management.- Knowledge and experience in crop trials.- Extensive experience in potato processing.- Extensive experience in seed production and supply.- Extensive experience in variety protection globally.- Proven track record of implementing solutions within established timelines.- Strong network and relationships with key institutes.?Application:Interested candidates are encouraged to apply for this opportunity to drive innovation and growth in potato variety development at McCain Foods.
