The advice is evidence based, with an emphasis on science and research rather than tradition or convention. This position is based out of the Western Ag Supply Lethbridge Alberta office requiring regular travel to client farms across the provinces of Alberta, Saskatchewan, Manitoba and the state of Montana.  This job will require up to 50% travel. Summary:Provide feed formulation and production management services to clients with a focus on decreasing feed cost and optimizing production performance, efficiency and profits.Expand Western Ag Supply’s nutrition services business.Provide measurable economic benefits to client farms. Key Functions:Regular ingredient input cost reviews and best cost formulation of diets.Manage and update ingredient nutrient profiles.Quality control analysis of feed ingredients and manufacturing procedures.Feed manufacturing inspections and improvementsSetup, review and audit implementation of feeding programs in barns.Regular farm visits to clients to consult with farm managers on all areas of productionReview client production data & identify opportunities to increase profits through management practice improvements.Developing, demonstrating and leading improvement strategies for client farms.Client farm staff training on essential production and leadership skills.Conducting ventilation assessments and providing recommendations and training to improve.Assessing utilities costs and providing recommendations to reduce costs.Trouble shooting production challenges at client farms.Review current research and implement new technologies on client farms. Abilities Required:Operate independently to complete job functions and provide required services.Strong communication skills to apply knowledge and new technology at the customer level.Effective time management and organization skills.Work as part of a team with the nutrition, sales & administration departments.Support the sales professionals developing business and demonstrating the value of the services. Qualifications:PhD or M.Sc.
