Job Title : Drywall installer Salary : $30/ hour Type of employment: Permanent employment, Full time 40 to 60 hours / week No. of positions: 3 Job Start Date: ASAP Job Location: 4929 50 Ave., Barrhead, AB T7N1A1 Overview Languages English Education Secondary (high) school graduation certificate Experience 1 year to less than 2 years Responsibilities Tasks Prepare tenders and quotations Apply, level and smooth coats of plaster Clean and prepare surfaces Fill joints, nail indentations, holes and cracks with joint compound using trowel and broad knife Finish corners and angles and create decorative designs in finish coat, if required Measure, cut, fit and install drywall sheets Mix plaster ingredients to desired consistency Position and secure sheets to metal or wooden studs or joists Smooth out excess compound and allow coat to dry Cut openings in lath for heating and ventilation piping, ducts and electrical outlets Install exterior and interior steel studs Install metal stud framing and furring for interior drywall or plaster walls and ceilings, using hand and power tools Prepare wall and ceiling layouts Read and interpret blueprints, maps, drawings and specifications Erect and install scaffolding, falsework and other working platforms Additional information Work conditions and physical capabilities Handling heavy loads Physically demanding Repetitive tasks Tight deadlines Walking Personal suitability Client focus Flexibility Team player
