No matter what corporate or support role you play in delivering our critical services to Victorians, you join a team dedicated to bringing our vision to be a world leading ambulance service to life.  We are seeking a Director Payroll Services to provide strategic leadership & oversight to the payroll department, including setting the vision and strategy for payroll operations and overseeing the successful execution of all payroll-related queries within Ambulance Victoria. This is a full-time, ongoing position within our People & Culture Division. While WFH/Hybrid options are available, it is essential that the successful applicant maintains a presence at our Doncaster headquarters in line with our hybrid working model.  About the role  Reporting to the Executive Director People & Culture, this role is a key strategy driver, critical to delivering efficient and integrated end-to-end payroll processes, process improvements and automation to ensure quality service delivery and alignment with the broader P&C vision. Responsibilities include (not limited to):  Define and oversee timely adherence and compliance with all relevant Awards, Australian payroll legislation, regulations responsible for the delivery of effective and accurate end-to-end payroll operations at AV Oversee the provision of responsive, customer focused, compliant and effective payroll service delivery, ensuring adequate controls are in place to deliver on accurate and timely processing of payroll for all employees Drive the strategic direction, overseeing the development and implementation of payroll workflows to adapt to fluctuating workforce demands Influence, collaborate and negotiate with stakeholders to gain support to execute and achieve AV's Payroll service delivery goals and organisational objectives Provide strong and effective leadership by fostering a performance based, collaborative culture focused on continuous improvement and commitment to best practice  About you  To be considered for this position, you will have completed a post graduate degree or industry specialised certification with extensive relevant experience in a Business, Finance or Payroll Management related field, or an equivalent combination of training and extensive relevant experience. Other requirements include (not limited to):  Extensive experience providing high level, strategic advice, and management of payroll operations in complex and diverse employment environments In-depth knowledge of Enterprise Bargaining agreements, industrial relations, and compliance requirements Significant experience in managing complex payroll systems in operational environments with 24/7 requirements including strong analytical skills and proficiency in payroll systems and software Proven experience and success in building and leading high-performing teams in fast-paced settings Exceptional communication, influencing and relationship-building skills, including the ability to prepare high quality reports, papers, and presentations for a variety of audiences  Working at Ambulance Victoria As a valued member of AV you will enjoy a professional working environment that recognises the importance of work/life balance.
