We are seeking a Director Operational Capability to provide strategic leadership in the development and delivery of operational capability activities to the clinical and operational workforce across Ambulance Victoria (AV). This is a full-time, ongoing position within our Quality &Clinical Innovation Division. While WFH/Hybrid options are available, it is essential that the successful applicant maintains a presence at Sunshine Capability Hub in line with our hybrid working model.
About the role
Reporting to the Executive Director Quality & Clinical Innovation, this role will Lead and drive the development and delivery of effective and sustainable education strategies and services within AV's career framework for our operational workforce and partners to support frontline workforce in ensuring Best Care to our patients. Responsibilities include (not limited to):
Oversee the development of innovative and flexible strategies for responding to present and future service delivery needs through collaborative operational planning activities with internal and external stakeholders
Ensure efficient and effective design and delivery of high-quality education programs, frameworks and standards to support clinical and operational service delivery, across graduate, ALS & MICA service streams
Lead the efficient and effective delivery of AV's volunteer first responder and Co-Responder functions, embedding clinical performance standards, government policy and AV policies and procedures
Establish and lead the strategic development of sustainable and contemporary educational standards within AV to ensure a high level of ambulance practice
Build strong relationships with universities, education providers, regulatory bodies, health services and other external agencies, ensuring AV is represented and in a position to effectively deliver legislative and community obligations and respond to new and emerging issues
Provide strong and effective leadership by fostering a performance based, collaborative culture focused on continuous improvement and commitment to best practice
About you
To be considered for this position, you will have completed a postgraduate degree or industry specialised certification supplemented with relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of training and extensive relevant experience. Other requirements include (not limited to):
Demonstrated experience working in senior roles in a complex organisation with diverse business requirements
Proven knowledge and experience of workplace training, education systems and strategy, including flexible alternatives for the delivery of education and training
Demonstrated strategic thinking and future planning skills across complex educational, business and risk management
Exceptional communication, influencing and relationship-building skills, including the ability to prepare high quality reports, papers, and presentations for a variety of audiences
Proven experience and success in building and leading high-performing teams
