We value those with sharp, analytical minds and are open to challenging the way things are done.    The team    Information Technology Services provides a wide range of IT facilities and support services to ASIC.  We are undertaking major technology projects that will transform our business and continue our significant technology transformation in a number of areas such as data and analytics, cloud, mobility, application modernisation.  We make use of the latest technology with an increasing focus on data sharing and analytics which will make ASIC a 'best in class' regulator supporting the Australian financial markets.     The role    As a Senior Mainframe Developer, you will be required to: Undertake design, development, support and implementation activities. Contribute to the delivery of ASIC projects/BAU releases working collaboratively with IT teams. Maintain BAU applications/processes. Provide Level 2 & 3 support including addressing data issues and producing ad-hoc reports from the database layer as needed. Develop working code and unit test cases based on functional requirements and building technical design to deliver planned scope for the releases/projects. Support audit/regulatory processes and procedures and remediating issues. Manage solution design, development and support of Mainframe applications and MQ Services, including integration with other applications. Resolve P1 & P2 production issues in a timely manner by working with both business and incident management teams. Mentor and develop team members Provide timely advice to the business on enhancing or fixing applications.      Qualifications and experience Relevant tertiary qualifications. Proven experience working as part of a project team, in a dynamic project/program environment as well as mentoring team members. Technical specialist knowledge in Mainframe & Unix applications, ADABAS Natural, JCL, Machine-to-Machine (M2M) solutions and MQ Series. Experience in Unix commands, C programming, HTML and Pearl would be highly regarded, Significant skill in assessing, analysing and resolving complex client and stakeholder related queries, utilising all relevant sources of information, data, applications and/or databases. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and be accountable for outcomes. Experience in resolving complex client and stakeholder related queries.
