Contribute to delivering on ASIC's purpose, vision, and strategic priorities to help maintain the integrity of the financial system and protect consumers from harm.   As a Project Accountant with ASIC, you will provide financial information and advice to project managers and senior leadership including financial reporting and analysis to improve decision making and support budgetary control of all activities undertaken.    Sydney or Canberra based location  Salary from $131,115 + 15.4% superannuation  Two Year Fixed Term Contract – hybrid working  Applications close at 11:59pm AEST, 3 April 2025   The team    The RegistryConnect program is focused on the stabilisation and targeted uplift of Business Registers including designing connections to the ABN and Director ID registers held by the ATO, and the more than 30 registers held by ASIC. With a multi-million dollar budget the Program will span over 5 years.     The role    You will be required to:  Build strong relationships with senior executives, project managers, and ASIC's central Finance team to ensure timely month-end delivery. Partner with RegistryConnect project managers to understand activity drivers, oversee capex/opex performance, and challenge forecasts for accuracy. Analyse and report on financial performance, budgets, forecasts, and other metrics. Present comprehensive financial analysis to senior leadership, addressing variances and budget risks. Drive process improvements to achieve business plan outcomes. Support external reporting to the Department of Finance and Treasury, consulting with agencies as needed. Develop solutions for financial and reputational risks. Assist with month-end/year-end closures and ad hoc reporting tasks. Collaborate on funding bids and financial reports for board-level presentations.    About you  As well as your strong interest in working with a regulatory body, you will have the following experience:   Qualification in Business, Commerce, or Finance, with CPA/CA preferred. Proven management accounting, budgeting, and forecasting experience in public/private sectors. Strong project accounting skills, collaborating with senior managers for timely and accurate financial advice. Proficiency in ERP systems like PeopleSoft, Hyperion, and Power BI for insightful financial reporting. Ability to simplify complex financial information for business users. Expertise in key accounting concepts, policies, and procedures. Analytical skills with attention to detail and accuracy. Stakeholder management, fostering productive relationships and networks. Skilled in presenting complex information to diverse audiences, including executives and boards.
