Job Description

Would you like to contribute to building genuine partnerships with Aboriginal people and communities across the State and find innovating ways to advance initiatives that promote Aboriginal empowerment? Pursuant to Section 50(d) of the Equal Opportunity Act, only Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people are eligible for appointment to this position.  Lead, plan and undertake high-level research and critical analysis of trends, emerging issues, and best practice relevant to Aboriginal empowerment to support evidence-based policy decisions. Provide advice and collaborate with key stakeholders, to proactively review and adapt departmental practices, programs and ways of working to ensure they promote Aboriginal empowerment and cultural safety. Partner with key stakeholders to implement and manage change using change management principles. Essential requirements for this role: Demonstrate well-developed conceptual, research, analytical and problem-solving skills, including proactively identifying issues and developing and implementing solutions. Experience in clearly communicating to a diverse audience using a range of channels including preparing concise written documents tailored to the audience’s level of understanding. High-level interpersonal and negotiation skills, with experience in engaging with a diverse range of stakeholders at all levels, including Aboriginal stakeholders.
