Contribute to delivering on ASIC's purpose, vision, and strategic priorities to help maintain the integrity of the financial system and protect consumers from harm.   Bring your advisory and analytical experience to this role as a Senior Analyst/Lawyer, to Identify and respond to regulatory issues across the credit, banking and general insurance sectors.   All locations considered Salary from $147,074 - $162,634 plus 15.4% superannuation Applications close at 11:59pm AEDT, 31 March 2025   The team  The Credit, Banking & General Insurance team is the team primarily responsible for the regulation and supervision of the credit, banking, payments, debt management, and general insurance sectors.  This includes proactive engagement with and monitoring of firms and the sector overall.  This team coordinates and provides strategic direction, industry knowledge and technical expertise for ASIC's work in these sectors. The team conducts analysis, research, supervision, monitoring, and engagement work (with a view to appropriate regulatory outcomes), considers applications for relief from legislative requirements, provides specialist support to regulatory reform activities, and engages with relevant stakeholders regularly to understand and respond to current and emerging issues.  The team provides assistance to other teams within ASIC to enable them to carry out their roles, especially the carrying out of enforcement and compliance action.    As a Senior Analyst/Lawyer, you will lead risk-based supervision and projects, reviewing the sector to ensure adherence with the law. You will be responsible for: Analysing regulatory issues and identifying and proposing solutions to achieve appropriate consumer and market outcomes. Leading and identifying new ways to utilise data to deliver priorities, including effective data collection, management and analysis, as well as communication of insights from data. Collaborating with the Sector Leadership team in the development of sector strategy and priorities. Leading and managing sector engagement initiatives alongside and in collaboration with other team members. Establishing and maintaining relationships with key internal and external stakeholders to effectively deliver the sector strategy.   With your demonstrated experience working on complex matters or projects requiring critical thinking and judgement, you will have the technical expertise and specialist skills to assist ASIC in providing solutions on highly complex regulatory issues and achieve impactful outcomes.  Your experience includes excellent written and verbal communication skills and the ability to develop strategic stakeholder relationships. You will also demonstrate: Knowledge of the Australian financial services and credit industries generally and specifically from a regulatory, product, operations, risk, or client service viewpoint. A relevant tertiary qualification.
