Great opportunity to join Forensic Intervention Services  Make a positive difference in keeping our community safe  Attractive salary between $109,730 – 132,764 + superannuation  This is currently an exciting opportunity to join Forensic Intervention Services as a Forensic Senior Clinician, Provisional Practice within the Clinical Projects team on an ongoing basis. What does Forensic Intervention Services do?  As a division of Corrections Victoria, Forensic Intervention Services is a specialist program area that provides service users in custody and in the community with evidence-based screening, assessment, and offence-specific intervention services to support their rehabilitation. In doing so, Forensic Intervention Services is a critical component of the department's strategy to reduce reoffending and contribute to community safety.  What will the Forensic Senior Clinician, Provisional Practice, do?  The Forensic Senior Clinician, Provisional Practice will provide high quality clinical supervision and mentoring to a cohort of Provisional Psychologists. They will support this cohort in their skill development in the delivery of screenings, assessments and therapeutic interventions for service users with a range of convictions.   The role will provide consultancy and advice to key internal and external stakeholders on clinical matters, particularly in relation to the management of relevant service users. This role is also expected to continue their clinical practice and as such, approximately 30% of the role is in direct service delivery including assessments, facilitating group interventions, or individual interventions as required.  What skills should the Forensic Senior Clinician, Provisional Practice, have?  As our ideal candidate, you will have the ability to develop and maintain effective and productive working relationships with stakeholders, colleagues, and external providers.   You will possess well-developed interpersonal skills, including the ability to appropriately manage and respond to service user, supervisee, and other stakeholder enquiries.  You will also have experience in IT systems and administrative tasks to provide administrative support, across the business unit as required.   Experience in using government systems and Microsoft Office suite is highly desirable.   Registration as a Psychologist with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA); and  Psychology Board of Australia Board-approved supervisor status is required.  Minimum four years post-registration clinical experience (in a forensic setting, is desirable) and demonstrated knowledge of Psychology Board of Australia requirements for meeting core competencies required for general registration is required.  Demonstrated experience with supervising Provisional Psychologists to registration is desirable.  Forensic Psychology endorsement and Psychology Board of Australia Board-approved registrar program principal supervisor status, in forensic psychology, is desirable.  A current Victorian driver's licence is required.  What's in it for you?  You will be working for the Department of Justice and Community Safety, which is one arm of the Victorian State Government, a recognised top employer of choice nationally.
