Job Summary: In this role, you will plan, develop, coordinate and review plant design and piping work on large projects having specialized requirements. You will optimize facility layout based on diagrams, client needs, current technology, and operational and maintenance requirements. Your technical input will ensure configuration compliance, procurement requirements are met, and complex issues are resolved.  Major Responsibilities: Evaluates, selects, and applies standard plant design and piping engineering methods, techniques, procedures and criteria for a small size project or assignment in support of a global business unit​ or staff group to include the preparation of original designs layouts, details, drawings and specifications​  Develops and interprets design criteria and specifications for most complex plant design and piping infrastructure in a global business unit​.   Examines and analyzes pipe configurations for ANSI/ASME code compliance​  Optimizes facility layout based on piping and instrument diagrams, client requirements, current technology, and operational and maintenance requirements​  Analyzes problems with conflicting design requirements, sketches ideas and possible solutions​  Analyzes and reports on the suitability of unconventional materials, techniques and/or difficult coordination requirements​  Plans, coordinates, or prepares equipment, work and material specifications, bid evaluations and award recommendations​  Coordinates plant design engineering efforts in assigned areas with specialty groups, engineering disciplines, the client, vendor, contractors, construction and other functional groups​  Prepares procurement and subcontract requisition documents and performs associated technical bid evaluations with award recommendations​  Optimizes facility layout based on piping and instrument diagrams, client requirements, current technology, and operational and maintenance requirements  Education and Experience Requirements: Requires bachelor's degree (or international equivalent) and 8-10  years of relevant experience or 12-14 years of relevant work experience​ Required Knowledge and Skills: What are the most important knowledge and skills (includes technical skills) that are needed UPON ENTRY to do the job successfully?    What 3 to 5 KEY factors (ex. prior experience) should be used to determine qualification for the position?  Total Rewards/Benefits For decades, Bechtel has worked to inspire the next generation of employees and beyond!
