We are a seeking an experienced Senior Human Factors Engineer to join the BCS team.  BCS is a next generation networking product that is the centerpiece for multiple projects and campaigns. BCS combines both developmental and off the shelf hardware and software to provide world leading communications capability for ADF personnel. It can be rapidly deployed from anywhere, and its modular design provides a flexible, scalable solution that can be customized for various mission needs. Analyse system designs to identify human factors engineering needs. Develop and Manage Human Engineering Program Plans and reports. Apply human factors principles and methods to design and evaluate user interfaces, products, and systems. Conduct human factors analyses to identify and mitigate potential risks and hazards in systems and processes. Conduct usability testing and analysis to identify potential issues and make recommendations for improvement. Evaluate system compliance with human factors requirements and standards. Develop written reports and presentations on human factors engineering activities. Experience/Qualifications A degree in engineering is preferred and/or human factors, ergonomics, psychology, human-computer interaction, or a related discipline. Minimum of 5 years of human factors engineering experience. Strong understanding of human factors principles involving ergonomics, cognitive psychology, and human-computer interaction. Familiarity with industry standards and best practices in human factors engineering. Ability to apply human factors methods to design and evaluate user interfaces, products, and systems. Knowledge of usability testing techniques, user research methods, and data analysis. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. A passion for continuous learning and staying up-to-date with developments in the field. Applicants must be Australian Citizens to meet Defence security requirements. Post-graduate degree in a discipline related to human factors. Certified Professional Ergonomist with HFESA. Experience as a Human Factors Engineer on a Defence or complex engineering project environments. Experience in the application of MIL-STD-1472. Hold an Australian Government Security Clearance. Experience in the application of anthropometric data to optimise the design of workspaces, equipment, and controls for human use. Knowledge of systems engineering.
