Learn more about our extraordinary teams building inspiring projects in our Impact Report.  Project Overview: Bechtel Mining and Metals offers engineering, procurement, and construction services for customers in the mining sector across multiple commodities including Iron Ore, Bauxite, Alumina, Aluminium, Copper, Gold, Coal, Lithium and Rare Earths markets.  Headquartered in Santiago, Chile, the M&M global business unit also has offices in Brisbane, Perth and Adelaide in Australia along with execution units in the United States, Peru, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, India and other project locations around the world. Job Summary: In this position, you will lead a team to manage cost engineering, cost estimating, cost analysis/control, forecasting, and planning/scheduling activities for a project that requires technical skill and expertise. You will provide leadership, oversight, guidance, training, and mentoring to your team on key project procedures and risk management to ensure successful project execution and delivery. Major Responsibilities: Manages cost engineering, cost estimating, cost analysis/control, and planning/scheduling activities for a project, or for discipline/project/proposal estimating or staff planning activities that requires a high degree of technical skill and experience Develops the preparation and presentation of project/program estimates and cost forecasts Supports project/program organizational and administrative activities Provides generally non-routine cost engineering/planning and scheduling guidance Identifies and provides innovative solutions to cost engineering and planning/scheduling problems Reviews Earned Revenue Determination Data, Proposal Financial Summaries, Project Financial Status Reports, and Charge for Project Working Capital calculations for assigned project/program Reviews contract drafts for adequacy of cost and scope definition and Project Controls requirements Coordinates development of all data in support of negotiations Provides oversight, training, mentoring, and ensures capability of Project Risk Coordinator(s) and Project Risk Specialist(s) in conducting PERM activities towards the attainment of project objectives Provides leadership in terms of integrating the risk management process with other key project procedures (e.g., Change Management, Forecasting, Cost, Trends, and Claims and support corporate Manages cost engineering, cost estimating, cost analysis/control, and planning/scheduling activities for a large, complex project, or for discipline/project/proposal estimating or staff planning activities that requires a high degree of technical skill and experience Develops and maintains project Risk Management Plan (RMP), metrics, and reports Develops and reviews risk breakdown structures, risk libraries, and risk identification tools and frameworks in support of project needs Education and Experience Requirements: Knowledge of engineering, procurement, contracts, construction, and start-up work processes. Prior experience in the role. Requires bachelor's or master's degree (or international equivalent) and 13-15 years of relevant experience or 17-19 years of relevant work experience Requires bachelor's or master's degree (or international equivalent) and 15+ years of relevant experience or 19+ years of relevant work experience Required Knowledge and Skills: Prior experience working as client representation or in PM/CM role preferred. Proficiency with PC operating systems, with proficiency in several basic software applications. Knowledge of financial reporting systems and controller account codes, and understanding of Controller instructions, which impact Project Controls (including Project Financial Status Reports and Earned Revenue Determination Data). Knowledge of engineering, procurement, contracts, construction, and startup work processes. Knowledge of engineering and construction management customarily acquired over time through specialized instruction or practical experience. Fully proficient in existing data sources, excel etc. however all outputs are expected to be provided in Power BI. Knowledge of supervision, personnel administration, and training of technical and non-technical personnel.
