Job Description Being a collection and delivery driver for DPD, you'll often be the first point of contact that our customers have with us, so providing a great service when you collect or hand over a parcel is just as important as collecting or delivering the parcel on time. You are vital to providing a service that genuinely makes a difference to our customers. Your key responsibilities will include: Safely operating a 7.5 tonne vehicle in accordance with all traffic laws and company policies. Assisting with loading and unloading parcels at the depot at the start and end of each shift. Following a daily delivery and collection schedule, typically consisting of 50-60 stops around the designated area. Utilising the provided sack barrow/hand truck for heavier items to ensure safe handling of parcels. Accurately scanning and recording all parcel transactions using the company's electronic systems. Providing exceptional customer service, including clear communication and professional demeanour when interacting with clients. Adhering to strict time schedules to ensure timely collections and deliveries. Conducting daily vehicle inspections and reporting any maintenance issues promptly. Maintaining accurate logs of your driving hours in compliance with regulations. Adapting to route changes and unexpected situations, such as traffic or weather conditions. Ensuring the security and integrity of all parcels in your care throughout your shift. Collaborating with depot staff and other drivers to optimise delivery routes and processes. Representing DPD in a professional manner at all times, including wearing the provided uniform and maintaining a tidy appearance. To be considered for this role, you will need a valid C1 licence, Driver Qualification Card (DQC), and Certificate of Professional Competence (CPC). You will also need at least 12 months of experience in this or a similar role.
