The role of the Digital Preservation Policy and Outreach Specialist is to establish the framework for digital preservation policy, strategy and outreach activities as part of the National Library’s digital preservation programme. This position is responsible for designing, implementing and communicating preservation policies to define what will be expected to achieve preservation (the duty to the future) while maintaining and promoting access (the duty to the present). The National Library sits within the Information and Knowledge Services branch, the Department’s epicentre of information management, culture and heritage. Our branch is all about collecting, storing and preserving important things that are precious to New Zealand.
