Senior support Worker Start Date: Asap Days - 08.00-20.00 Nights - 20.00-08.00 Rates: Day rate£14.52ph. Night rate £19.31ph. Enhanced rates for weekend and bank holidays. About the Role: The senior care worker leads and prioritises the workload of the team accordingly ensuring any issues are dealt with as they arise, and the health safety and welfare of customers and employees are responded to in line with agreed policies and procedure. The senior care worker will be responsible for ordering, monitoring and administering medication to customers, ensuring prescribed drugs are used appropriately and safely in line with relevant policies and procedures. The senior care workers will need to understand the NEWS2 scoring system as this is used in our homes. The senior care worker will be responsible for calling in external professionals such as District nurses, doctors and paramedics if needed. The senior care worker will be responsible for updating care plans. Six monthsexperience required; training and DBS checks will be provided. Opus, on behalf of West Northampton Council are looking to recruit a senior support worker. Working through Opus, you will be responsible for leading the team and dealing with issues as they arise. Providing practical and emotional support to customers to help them maintain independent living. Assisting customers to carry out activities, hygiene routines and manage medication as directed within their care plans to help maintain health and wellbeing or assisting customers to undertake practical tasks to help maintain their physical wellbeing. The location for this role is based in Daventry. Key Objectives: To Lead a team of carers on your unit. Ordering, booking in and administering medication Ensure clear, concise, and accurate records are kept of all care and support provided. Updating care plans when the needs of the customers change. To ensure safeguarding concerns are identified and reported to management team. To make appropriate use of communication systems to obtain and give information. Ensure that information is accurate and kept up to date. This will include written care plans, health action plans andperson-centred plans, notes of team meetings, accident and incident reports and safeguarding forms. The skills and qualities we look for include: The support worker will need have a NVQ level 3 in health and social care. A proficient level of written and spoken English for the purposes of case recording. Have experience of booking in and administering medication. Experience of leading a team in a care setting.
