A high-profile multinational manufacturing organisation located in Krakow, Poland requires a Senior Legal Counsel . The Senior Legal Counsel will ensure the provision of consistently high-quality, business appropriate legal solutions in respect of commercial trading arrangements of the Group primarily in EMEA and support the Global Procurement team. As Senior Counsel you will The post will interact with the in-house legal and compliance team, external legal counsel and other advisers, and will require the willingness to travel across the EMEA Region to deliver the role. Key Responsibilities - Senior Counsel Provide legal advice relating across specific business units in EMEA and to the Global Procurement team, particularly in relation to complex commercial contracts, claims and litigation. Possess the ability to identify and manage a range of others issues such as competition law, compliance matters, employment, real estate, health& safety and environmental issues etc. Operate as a business partner to the EMEA leadership team. Provide strategic input across the business and contribute to wider business issues, in addition to legal. Provide input and challenge into decision-making processes from both a business and legal perspective. Support the development of the Legal Team in the continuing improvement of service delivery. Skills& Experience - Senior Legal Counsel A Polish or UK qualified lawyer. Over 8 years experience in-house with a combination of multinational organisation experience gained both inside and outside of Poland. Excellent litigation and dispute experience with the proven ability to resolve disputes before they escalate. First-class commercial contract experience and commercial judgement together with the willingness to use it, anticipating the needs of the business and appropriately weighing up benefits and risks. A proven ability to understand complex business issues and provide incisive, commercial and pragmatic counsel. Strong technical and analytical skills with the ability to identify, focus and prioritise key legal/compliance matters. Experience of operating in an international business and therefore have an understanding and awareness of the key risks in the markets. An interest in the wider business context, particularly how innovation and technology can be used to contribute to the business’ strategy and drive efficiencies. The ability to build strong, lasting and effective business relationships, and to cultivate and maintain the position of trusted advisor to business managers. Influencing internal stakeholders and external counterparties to get the right results. Excellent organisation and time management, demonstrating a strong ability to organise and prioritise. Integrity and courage - challenge effectively and deliver difficult messages when necessary. A diplomatic approach towards issues. Experience in providing support to senior staff. Understanding and capability to work in a cross-cultural working environment.
