Job Description
You will be the interface between commercial sales, operations, planning and production to create, modify and manage production schedules.
You will schedule all manufacturing work ensuring product is produced in accordance with customers due dates whilst maximising cost effectiveness. Excellent communication skills will be needed to ensure that the S&OP team are provided with timely information that is accurately reflected in the production schedule.
You will monitor and ensure that inventory levels remain sufficient to meet demands and escalate, and work to resolve, any issues arising.
Main Responsibilities
Lead a Sales&Operational Planning Team to determine customer demand and forecasts and communicate finished goods availability to the team.
Monitor and maintain required levels of raw material, packaging and finished goods to meet customer demand and forecast demand.
Perform forward planning based on customer demand, forecast and minimum stock levels.
Coordinate and plan production schedules to meet OTIF and KPI targets.
Coordinate with the Production and Engineering Teams to ensure optimised planning and implementation of engineering changes, PPM's or Capex projects in the process.
Organise Production Assemblies/Works Orders and process assembly paperwork to completion.
Track status of production schedules and provide status updates as required.
Monitor the execution of production plans and resolve any issues
Monitor material supply flow and identify shortages and bottle necks in usage
Identify and resolve problems relating to inventory. Drive and support activities relating to inventory management.
Report on production performance, plan attainment and supply risks/issues.
Process and produce manufacturing and performance statistics as required
Maintain material master data as required
Assist the manufacturing excellence team in strategic projects that deliver benefits in output reliability, process efficiency, manufacturing costs, operational planning, asset productivity, staff productivity and capacity utilisation.
Continually improve the planning process to ensure it is a robust, proactive system that can react to changing customer demand quickly.Essential Knowledge

Chemical Manufacturing background
Sage X3 or SAPEssential Skills
Proven experience as a production planner
Good experience of material requirements planning (MRP) and related software
Strong analytical thinking and problem solving skills
Excellent organisational and time management skills
Effective communication skills
Experience at management level with the ability to engage and facilitate in a team
Intermediate excel skillsDesirable Skills
Bachelors degree in supply chain management, business management or related field.
