Job Description
Bloomberg runs on data. Our products are fueled by powerful information. We combine data and context to paint the whole picture for our clients, around the clock - from around the world. In Data, we are responsible for delivering this data, news and analytics through innovative technology - quickly and accurately. We apply problem-solving skills to identify innovative workflow efficiencies, and we implement technology solutions to enhance our systems, products and processes. As part of the Data Management Lab (DML) department, we're responsible for supporting the development, enablement, and implementation of data management best practices that enable the delivery of"ready-to-use" data. What's the role? As a product manager, you will have ownership of several key components of the metadata technical stack (e.g. Bloomberg Semantic Model (BSM), Bloomberg Semantic Registry (BSR)), as well as the engagements around them. The day-to-day will vary, some days you may be deriving insights from stakeholder use cases and usage data. On other days, you may be specifying product strategy or feature specifications. Your work will touch a multitude of domains across Bloomberg, covering many departments like Data, Product and Engineering. We'll trust You To: Create and execute on a strategic technical product vision and incremental roadmap, aligned with broader initiative goals. Work closely with stakeholders across the firm to understand their requirements, constraints, dependencies, and priorities. Define features within BSM and BSR, while also identifying impacts or requirements of adjacent systems across Bloomberg. Provide regular communication to leadership and stakeholders on product updates, including key metrics. Recognize patterns across disparate workstreams and identify areas for collaboration. Stay abreast of emerging trends and advancements in knowledge representation and semantic technologies to identify impacts on products. Serve as product ambassador and promote adoption of semantic implementations. You'll need to have: *Please note we use years of experience as a guide but we certainly will consider applications from all candidates who are able to demonstrate the skills necessary for the role. 4 years of product development and/or ownership experience. Strong interpersonal skills including networking, collaboration, communication, time management, adaptation to different audiences and environments. Strong understanding of functional areas within the organization, with the ability to translate business requirements into product deliverables. Demonstrated ability to drive results, meet tight deadlines, and manage competing priorities. We'd love to see: Exposure to metadata systems, data modeling, semantic technologies, linked data and/or knowledge graphs. Project Management Professional (PMP), Scrum Master certification (CSM), or other relevant certifications are desirable. Experience working in agile methodologies and JIRA. Exposure to the Bloomberg Terminal and/or Enterprise data products. Understanding of software development and data management life cycle methodologies. Does this sound like you: Apply if you think we're a good match. We'll get in touch to let you know what the next steps are.
