We are currently working in partnership with a commercial business within the Housing sector. Within this role you will be responsible for all accounting functions within the organisation, including the leadership and management of the finance team to deliver all key objectives. Duties will include: * Leading on all statutory and management financial reporting for the organisation * Recording the company's income and expenditure using robust internal control systems * Lead on the cyclical budget and forecasting processes within the organisation * Providing a framework for effective financial planning aligned with the corporate business plan * Manage and motivate the finance team to out perform against agreed objectives * Lead on the production, monitoring and reporting of performance against budgets making recommendations for any actions required * Ensuring all management and financial accounting records are accurately recorded * Maintain accurate income accounting records and engage with customers to provide leaseholder, shared owners and service charge customers with accurate and timely information * Maintain clear and accurate tax accounting records * Maximise income and ensure that Value for Money is obtained across all functions * Uphold and promote principles of quality customer service, continuous improvement, efficiency and equality and diversity at all times Experience/Skills required: * CCAB Qualified Accountant * Previous experience of working in the Social Housing sector * Expertise in financial accounting and reporting, including leading on external audit and statutory reporting, VAT and group structures. * Experience of managing and leading cross functional teams * Experience of managing a high performing finance function * Experience of developing and implementing finance, audit and management * Advanced Excel skills * Ability to communicate complex financial ideas and data to a wide range of users at all levels * Streamlining of business processes * Ability to plan, organise and prioritise effectively in order to achieve targets and meet deadlines * Ability to continuously improve team and individual performances through leadership, motivation and encouragement * Project management experience Hours of work: Monday - Friday - 09.00 - (phone number removed) hours per week Remote working - travel to head office once per month in Peterborough Benefits: * Remote working * 25 days holiday +bank holidays * Training and development * A great pension scheme, double your contribution up to a maximum of 10% with Lifecover included * Rewards benefits platform including cashback on purchases, instant vouchers and reloadable gift cards, along with an online wellbeing hub * Westfield Health, giving access to a range of benefits such as 24 hour Doctor Line, Employee Assistance Programme, money back for glasses and dental treatment (after probation) If you have not received a response within 5 working days, unfortunately your application has been unsuccessful.
