Rated as a ‘Good’ school from Ofsted, they provide education, nurture and support across key stages 3 and 4 and are looking for a passionate Pastoral Assistant to join a vibrant and growing school. The role is varied, and willrequire an adaptable, flexible, and resourceful individual able to cope in a high-pressure environment and deal with constantly changing priorities. Due to the nature of the setting, the role can be challenging on a day to day basis, dealing with the complex emotional and behavioural needs of the students. It is essential that you have some experience of applying de-escalation strategies and where needed, positive handling/restraint techniques. However, the school will provide ongoing training. Main Purpose To work with and supervise individuals and groups of pupils with pastoral, emotionaland behavioural difficulties. To supervise and develop good social skills with pupils and deal with conflict issues around the school To support class teachers and teaching assistants with the creation and implementation of plans and strategies for the development and education of pupils.
