Solar O&M Technician- Oxford Salary£40,000 - £45,000 Yearly performance related bonus Vehicle, fuel card, overtime paid Industry specific training Access to wellbeing resources 25 days holiday plus bank hols Alecto are partnering with a multi award winning renewable engineer company in the South, who are currently looking to appoint a Solar O&M Technician due to a period of growth and expansion. As Solar O&M Technician, you will carry out planned preventative and reactive maintenance on Commercial and Utility Scale Solar PV systems, including roof top, ground mount and car ports, covering client sites throughout the South and Midlands areas. Main Responsibilities will include: Perform scheduled maintenance and corrective maintenance works (including HV maintenance) for solar plants to ensure the successful ongoing operation of the plants. Inspections and repairs on Solar PV and other electrical system including Solar Carports, Battery Storage Systems and EV charging stations. Understand and work to Risk Assessments and Method Statements Be able to work 'on roof' to inspect and work on Solar PV arrays Understand the dangers of working with Solar PV (DC power and principles) Good electrical knowledge of Solar PV systems to be able to determine faults and issues and fix where possible Work at height appreciation and safety knowledge Working with 3-phase equipment Compile reports from sites visited and follow up with technical advice on recommendations Working across the South Including Oxford, Luton, London and Home Counties, with occasional travel further a field requiring overnight stays. Requirements: Proven experience of working with Commercial Solar PV, Solar Carports, Battery Storage or EV Charging are preferred. We will also consider experienced commercial or industrial electricians with sound knowledge of 3 phase or HV who are looking to move into the Commercial/Utility Solar industry. Full training will be provided on Solar PV systems through time spent with a lead engineer and industry specific training. However, the following qualifications are essential: * NVQ Level 3 in Electrical installation or Maintenance City&Guilds 236, * City&Guilds 2391-52 Testing&inspection(desirable) * Qualifications or training in specific PV inverter technologies; Communications or networking qualifications; IOSH or NEBOSH (Desirable) * HV qualifications AP15 or OP40 (Desirable) * Full clean driving licence * JIB Gold Card With interviews slots available next week and an immediate start available, I am looking to speak with candidates as soon as possible on this one.
