Head of Procurement (12 Months Maternity Cover) Newcastle Upon Tyne£ Dependant on Experience Jackson Hogg is delighted to be exclusively partnered with an exciting client on the appointment of an Interim Head of Procurement position. As Head of Procurement (Interim), you will be strategically and operationally leading a small, closely knit team in delivering highlevel procurement solutions to a portfolio of well-known regional and nationally based clients within the construction industry as well as other sectors. Operating inline with public procurement regulations and legislation, the Head of Procurement will also be responsible ensuring that all procurement solutions and processes are compliant, fair and transparent. The Head of Procurement will also be encouraged to share knowledge, spot opportunities for improvement to further develop the procurement team and processes and have the ability to coach and support other members of the team. The ideal candidate will demonstrate the following knowledge / experience: • Strong experience / expert knowledge of public procurement regulations, frameworks and processes * Knowledge of upcoming changes and associated challenges / implications in public procurement regulations is desirable and a nice to have * Excellent tender and contract management experience * Ability to effectively communicate and build rapport with stakeholders, partners, suppliers and customers * Ability to spot opportunities, design and implement solutions as well as being confident to challenge and be challenged * Strong people skills with proven success in leading / coaching procurement team Working within a friendly, closely-knit team, this position would suit an enthusiastic team player with the ability to lead from the front, collaborate, drive best practice and share their expert knowledge whilstalso being hands-on with day to day projects as well as shaping longer term strategy.
