Job Description– Manufacturing Engineering Manager Location - Accrington  Basic salary - £77,000 £8k car allowance Many other benefits and a fantastic pension scheme  Sector - Aerospace  We are pleased to announce we are retained with a long-established manufacturing client who boast an impressive range ofclients and services within the Aerospace, Civil and Military sector.  Business overview: Works on design for manufacture, prototypes, early product development, volume ramp, full rate production, spares and aftermarket, supports the full product life cycle in the aerospace market, civil and military. Purpose: • Commitment to high standards of productivity and implement strategic awareness of company goals. • To maintain internal&external customer satisfaction and aim to exceed expectations.• Delegate appropriately however maintaining overall authority. • Listen attentively and encourage influential ideas within various tiers of the organisation. Recognises&rewards these ideas irrespectively.• Displays confidence within oneself and within other members of the team. Responsibilities • Strategy development/business acumen. Rapid NPI&developing an Engineering Powerhouse. Introduce all new business. Actively support the whole business sales and operation planning process.• Establish/implement necessary strategy for creating continuous improvement at all times. Change agenda/business improvement. Drive Continuous Improvement via Lean Methodology. • Identify, initiate and support strategic partnerships internally (Site&Group) and externally to ensure appropriate resource capacity and flexibility in order to support whole business objectives. Develop and effectively manage relevant customer and supplier relationships.• Departmental efficiency/functional performance/ outputs to target. Reduce Set-up times. Continually increase the capability within the site through ensuring all staff have annual personal development plans. In particular, taking ownership and personal responsibility for developing and coaching the team and ensure succession planning is in place. • Delivering or exceeding all operational and strategic targets within the agreed budget – safety, quality, delivery, cost, cash, EVA growth&service.• Leading a team of Engineers. Developing and motivating people. Ensure the successful performance of the team through your management and leadership skills. Lead, develop and motivate staff to ensure the most effective use of people. • Contribution to teamwork across the Group. Work closely with sister companies to deliver solutions and develop capabilities. Knowledge&Skills Essential-• CAD / CAM • Excellent engineer with knowledge and understanding of the application of modern manufacturing techniques and systems especially machining (from solid, castings&forgings– difficult materials) and assembly. • A visionary&strategic thinker capable of contributing to the creation of the business strategic plan.• Competitive Manufacturing Methodology. Lean / Six Sigma. • Management&Development of People.• Financially astute and familiar with business accounting and budget processes. • Strong Leadership Skills. Good organisation skills. • Project planning, management and NPI. • Effective Communications Skills. • Excellent influencing and negotiating skills. • Sound knowledge of workplaceproblem solving techniques. Desirable- • Strategic Management Skills. • Advanced project planning, management and NPI. • Evidence of problem solving which has resulted in clear added value. • Demonstrate advanced applications of lean Methodology/Six Sigma.
