Machine Shop Team Leader Department: Manufacturing Location: Sandwich Type: Permanent - Full time Salary: Competitive DOE We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Machine Shop Team Leader reporting to the Operations Manager, to join our manufacturing team. As the Machine Shop Team Leader, you will be responsible for leading a team within the machine shop to manufacture small batch, special, and prototype items. Your primary focus will be on ensuring maximum utilisation through effective deployment and management of CNC Setters and Operators. Key Responsibilities: - Lead by example and provide leadership to the machine shop team - Program, set, and operate CNC Mills and Lathes - Act as a mentor and trainer on the use of CNC equipment - Operate manual lathes and mills and provide training to team members - Create work packages using the ERP system and monitor progress through the shop - Conduct Daily Start Up Meetings and allocate tasks to the team - Monitor and report on team performance - Measure and record metrics to support relevant KPIs - Use KPIs to drive continuous improvement in team performance - Ensure the workforce has the necessary skill sets through training and development - Motivate and inspire the team to meet and exceed expectations Qualifications and Skills: - Experience in manufacturing machined components in a small batch or prototype environment - Ability to understand exploded drawings and adhere to written work instructions and route cards - Proficient in creating work packages - Skilled in programming and setting a wide range of CNC mills and lathes - Proficient in using manual lathes and mills - Strong leadership and communication skills If you are a dynamic and motivated individual with a passion for manufacturing and leading a team to success, we encourage you to apply for the Machine Shop Team Leader position.
