Job Description
HDS Consultancy is partnering with a market-leading mechanical contractor based in London, specializing in high-quality installations within the residential sector, to find an experienced Senior Project Manager– Mechanical to join their team. This is a pre-construction focused role initially, where you will be responsible for leading the early stages of large-scale residential projects, with a focus on design, procurement, and planning, before transitioning into the operational delivery phase. You’llwork closely with the project team to ensure a smooth and successful project handover, ensuring the project meets all quality, budget, and schedule requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
* Take ownership of the pre-construction phase, ensuring all design, engineering, and procurement processes arewell-planned and aligned with the overall project objectives.
* Add value during the design phase by offering innovative mechanical solutions that enhance buildability, streamline installations, and reduce long-term costs.
* Lead and coordinate with various stakeholders to develop a detailed project plan, including schedules, budgets, and key milestones.
* Establish project controls and ensure compliance with governance procedures throughout the pre-construction phase.
* Provide input and support during the procurement process to ensure the selection of high-quality suppliers and subcontractors.
* Ensure seamless handover to the operational delivery team, setting the stage for successful execution during construction.
* Oversee the commercial and contractual aspects, including reviewing financial forecasts, CVR, and contributing to profit improvement strategies.
Desired Experience&Skills:
* Proven experience managing mechanical installations on residential projects, with a combined project value of approximately£10M.
* Strong background in the pre-construction phase, including design coordination, procurement, and planning.
* Knowledge of managing multiple disciplines and interfaces within the residential sector, with an emphasis on efficient work sequencing and integration.
* Track record of delivering projects within budget and schedule, maintaining the highest standards of quality in the residential market.
* Health&Safety certifications, with a minimum of SMSTS, and a strong focus on maintaining a safe working environment.
