It is split into three divisions: heritage (which this role is for), Property Services which focuses on social housing maintenance and refurbishment, with it’s third division focusing on education, commercial and healthcare refurbishments and fit outs. Each division, contributes around £40m each to the companies yearly turnover. The company’s accounts close just after Easter and they are projected to finish on £120m and are forecasting £150m in turnover for next year. Division: The heritage division will only carry out work on buildings of acertain age or a listing. They undertake a diverse range of work, typically between £1m - £14m in contract value, from complex structural alterations, cut and care and façade retentions, to sympathetic restorations, refurbishments and high quality fit outs across the prime residential, historical, museum, art gallery, education and commercial office sectors. In Autumn last year, the business appointed a new divisional director to oversee the whole Heritage Division. This appointment was seen as a real coupe having spent 13 years in his last senior role at a ‘named competitor.’ Aside from being a very well connected, intelligent and methodical person. He has a very calm, personable and engaging approach. He has plans to develop the division, but this doesn’t just include an increase in work. He plans to add value and develop the existing business unit, working collaboratively with the current staff and developing the talent at his disposal. Role: Contracts Manager Salary: circa £80,000 - £90,000 + travel expenses + pension + healthcare Location: Office (Central London), Projects: Zone 1-2. After taking over the division, the new divisional lead has identified the need for a new Contracts Manager. The company has some very talented individuals in the company already, however he is looking for someone with the drive, energy and ability to progress into a higher management role in the future. The successful candidate must have a strong knowledge of JCT contractsand excellent client facing skills are essential. They must be capable of a project from initial enquiry, lead the bid and tender, project awards and pre-construction then run the job in a multiple job running capacity.
