The Job: Contract Behaviour Mentor in a Pupil Referral Unit (PRU) Where: London Borough of Greenwich When: Immediate Start Medium sized 7 -19 years Pupil Referral Unit (PRU) located in the London Borough Of Greenwich is currently seeking a highly skilled and experienced contract 1:1 Behaviour Mentor who can work full time and start immediately! Class sizes are small, typically between 5– 7 children and are supported by several Behaviour Mentors and lead by an SEMH Teacher. The successful Behaviour Mentor will be responsible for providing support to pupils with social, emotional and mental health (SEMH) needs, Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and behaviour difficulties.. The Behaviour Mentor will provide 1:1 support to pupils with SEMH, ASD and behaviour difficulties Work closely with teachers and other staff members to provide classroom support Develop and implement behaviour management plans for individual pupils Monitor and evaluate progress of pupils and adjust behaviour management plans as necessary Attend meetings with parents, carers and other professionals to discuss pupil progress and behaviour management strategies Keep accurate records of pupil progress and behaviour management strategies Work collaboratively with other professionals to provide a holistic approach to pupil support Attend relevant training and professional development opportunities to enhance knowledge and skills At least 2 years' experience working with pupils with SEMH, ASD and behaviour difficulties A degree in psychology or a related field is desirable Strong knowledge of behaviourmanagement strategies and techniques Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Ability to work independently and as part of a team Good organisational and time-management skills Knowledge of relevant legislation and policies, including safeguarding and child protection. Must have an EnhancedDBS or able to pay for a new one immediately SEN1
