During this 18 month programme, you’ll gain hands-on experience playing a key role our Underwriting team. Unicorn Underwriting is the Managing General Agent of the broking giant Amwins, and is focused on superior underwriting all day, every day. Our programs include UK Motor Fleet, UK Commercial insurance and Worldwide Property insurance and reinsurance. On this programme you’ll support us in offering our clients secure and thoughtful solutions in order to promote long-term relationships with our trading partners. You’ll also develop an understanding of our Group Support Teams (such as compliance, finance, and HR) and have the opportunity to work with our US and European colleagues.
Throughout the programme, you’ll receive comprehensive training and support, including:
Professional Qualification: CII Diploma in Insurance Level 4 Insurance Professional Apprenticeship - BPP fully supported
Training & Development: Interactive workshops to build technical and soft skills
Mentorship: Access to a dedicated mentor and an internal buddy for guidance and support to help you settle in and guide you through your development programme
Learning and Volunteering Events: Regular ‘Lunch & Learn’ with industry experts and a volunteering day to offer help to those in local communities via our Summer of Service programme
Exclusive Access: Amwins University, our online learning platform
Networking & Growth: Membership to our Young Professionals Network and the opportunity to lead on initiatives
International Experience: Potential opportunities to visit our offices in Cheltenham, Amsterdam, and Charlotte, USA

What Are We Looking For?
Education: Achieved or on track for a 2:1 degree (in any discipline), and attained GCSE in Maths and English – grade 4 (C) or above
Start Date: Available from 6th October 2025
Communication Skills: Confident in building relationships and networking from day one
Curiosity & Drive: No prior insurance experience needed—we’ll provide the knowledge; you bring the enthusiasm!
