Job Description
Finegreen are currently supporting the appointment of a senior level Estates professional, supporting a large NHS Trust for an initial interim period of 6 months.
Due to the interim nature of this position, the client will be looking to interview immediately and appoint with a start date in the next 4 to 6 weeks. The client could possibly consider the secondment of an NHS employee at this level, but the timelines above would remain the same which is something to consider if interested.
Provide effective strategic leadership and management of all aspects of the Trust’s estate and facilities services, commensurate with the organisations overall strategy and objectives. This is a multisite site/hospital Trust so will need to have had this experience to be considered.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide expert strategic direction and advice to the Trust Board on the strategic development of the hospital site and any associated locations ensuring that it meets the needs of clinical and other areas provided by the Trust;
Overall responsibility for the efficient and effective management and operation of all areas within the Estate and Facilities Directorate;
Assume continued responsibility for rationalisation programme and estates strategy across the hospital sites, providing professional advice and expertise, liaising with external agencies and organisation, on behalf of the Chief Executive and Trust Board;
Direct management and leadership of all Estateand Facilities functions including (but not limited to) Estates maintenance, Facilities Services (catering, cleaning, Portering) Security, Capital Development, Fire, EPRR, EME etc.;
Overall budget control of all of the above sections of the estate and facilities department, in accordance with the Trusts Standing Financial Instructions and a key adviser of associated budget matters, to ensure the efficient and effective use of the sites infrastructure, plant and services;
Ensure that the highest possible standards of compliance care achieved across all areas of Estates and Facilities.
Ideal Candidate:
MSc Degree in building services or an engineering related discipline;
Membership of the Institute of Engineering Technology (IET) or Chartered Institute of Building Service Engineers (CIBSE) or Institute of Healthcare Engineering and Estate Management (IHEEM) or similar;
Broad experienceof leading large teams of professional staff within a healthcare performance management culture;
A record of achievement in leading and managing the delivery and improvement of healthcare services within a demanding and dynamic environment.
