Then join our Occupational Therapy workforce as a Senior Occupational Therapist. We are looking for those working at, or ready to step up to a senior role (equivalent to NHS Band 6). We are looking for enthusiastic and motivated individuals with a passion for Occupational Therapy. You will have or be developing specialist clinical skills, leadership skills and understand application of legislation in practice. In Hull, Occupational Therapy is a vital function of Adult Social Care, ensuring that individuals can maintain their independence and live life to the fullest in their own homes. There are many opportunities across Adult Social Care for professional development within the 4 pillars (RCOT career framework), that will enable you to broaden your skill set. We will provide support to enhance and progress your leadership skills, clinical expertise and be involved with research as part of our work with the Curiosity Partnership. We run monthly OT CPD sessions. As a valued leader, you will be providing supervision and clinical oversight of other staff members within the Occupational Therapy team including mentoring apprentices’, students, and preceptors.. We offer protected time to develop skills in practice education. You will contribute to service development, policy and process for Occupational Therapy, ensuring OT is embedded within the wider Social Care offer. The role will support the application of trauma informed approaches and rights based practice. As a Senior Occupational Therapist, you will carry a complex case load across a range of areas including Moving and Handling, reablement, specialist equipment, rehousing and major adaptations. You will use solution focussed conversations, to agree goals with people as part of a proportionate assessment process. Where appropriate, contribute to, or lead on statutory assessment and review of individuals care and support needs under the Care Act 2014. There is an opportunity to develop an area of specialist interest as a champion, or enhance skills with training such as Best Interest Assessor accreditation. You will have the opportunity to work with a varied case load including: Complex long term neurological conditions Life limiting illnesses Offenders within prison and in the community Homelessness Self neglect / hording Reablement Learning difficulties and autism Children transitioning into adulthood (16-25) We also offer a variety of opportunities to rotate between teams and work flexibly including full or part time hours, 7 or 5 day working and possible term time only working by negotiation (7 Day working includes weekends on a rota basis with alternative days off in the week).
