At smartDCS Group we are currently looking for a Junior MAC Systems Administrator to work out of our Gloucester office. We are a growing technology business with two brands, which are data services business and IT consultancy. The successful candidate will not only be capable of working on their own, but they will also have a desire to challenge themselves. This includes learning new technologies and skills and progressing within our company as opportunities arise. About the role: The Junior System Administrator will work within our teams, supporting our systems onsite, their equipment and the software used. You will manage and maintain the computer systems and applications ensuring that systems integrity and business efficiency can be maximised. This will involve remote management and liaison with team members also working remotely. Part of your responsibility is to maintain effective links to other sites, so that the corporate network infrastructure functions effectively. The successful candidate will play an important role within the business and there is room to develop skills for those with limited experience as a shining and ambitious personality is mostly desired. This is a hybrid role, however you will be expected to be onsite 5 days a week initially while you embed into your new position. There will be occasional travel as you grow with the role and we are also seeking some who has experience of: * Working in a MAC Systems Administrator role and administering MAC OS environments * Hardware and Software installations, upgrades, and configurations * Ability to work autonomously and prioritise tasks effectively * Writing supporting documentation in regard to troubleshooting and configurations steps * Diagnosing, troubleshooting and resolving software, hardware and networking issues To be successful in this position, you will need a hunger to learn and be proactive and involved with making IT the best it can be for our employees. What you will be doing day to day: Reporting into the Operations team, the Junior Systems Administrator will be working to ensure operational reliability, security and integrity throughout the administration, working within our team supporting our systems onsite, their equipment and the software used. You will provide front-line user support for internal tools and technologies and will contribute to various initiatives, including continuously improving our offerings and adapting with business needs. This includes updating our tools and technologies, process improvements, and documentation efforts that help support our staff. As Junior Systems Administrator you will be supporting, and maintaining our server and storage infrastructure, ensuring secure, resilient, and highly available services that support core business functions. You will collaborate with the Operations team on the development and enhancement of both existing and new systems and infrastructure, while actively contributing on company initiatives.
