Job Description
Senior Cybersecurity Lead required for a rapidly growing Data and Software organisation, based in Edinburgh.
The Company:
They have been in business for over 50 years and are at the forefront of data and analytics. Based in Edinburgh, they are expanding a number of parts of their technology teams, but with a particular focus on standing up and adding in a number of new business applications as well as Cybersecurity across the organisation. They are experiencing a period of both growth and change, and this role is for someone who can adapt quickly and work within a fast-paced technology environment.
They have many strong and long-term relationships with their customers and are very well positioned in the marketplace. Their new focus is in the renewables sector and this is obviously a very topical market. For this role, they are ideally looking for people to be based in and around the Edinburgh/central belt area - with it ideal if you can get into the office 2 days a week.
The role:
This position is a brand new one, sitting amongst a newly created Cyber function and one which is growing. Reporting directly into the Head of Cyber Security for the global business, this is a key priority for the company and once which needs to be right. By the end of the year, the goal is to have a team of 6 including yourself, all specialised in Cyber and reducing and containing threats.
This is an individual contributor role, with strong general Cyber Security knowledge across the area. You will not have any direct reports, however it is a leadership role from an experience and mentorship perspective, as well as the ability to shape the cyber landscape across the business. You will need to delegate and prioritise tasks for the team, however will also need to be technical and "get the hands dirty" when required. You will often take the lead on projects, however will need to be a dab hand at getting in the weeds also. A sort of Principal level Cyber Security Engineer, across a global business of thousands of staff.
Key Skills and Experience:
** A number of years in security with a specific Cyber focus (7+ years)
** A strong Cyber generalist, with knowledge across all areas (Risk, Forensics, Firewalls, Vulnerability Management etc)
** Have experience of dealing with a major cyber incident, ideally across a multinational, large-scale tech business
** The ability to interact with a wide-range of business users, from super techy individuals to high-level board members
** The ability to design, implement, and manage complex security solutions to protect the company's systems, networks, and applications
** Lead incident response efforts, investigating and responding to security incidents and vulnerabilities, and providing recommendations for remediation
** Able to develop and implement security policies, standards, and procedures to ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations
** Qualifications such as: CISSP, CISM, CISA, SOC2 etc beneficial
This is an opportunity to not only join a growing team, but a technology company who invest heavily in both their staff and technology as a whole. They treat their employees very well, as well as excellent benefits (15% bonus, private healthcare, 8% non-contributary pension scheme, 35 hour working week etc).
