The role Orbit are delighted to announce that we are recruiting for an Accounting Technician to join our finance team on a 12 month contract basis. We are looking for a passionate and ambitious individual that's eager for a career in accountancy, where you will provide an excellent finance service to your customers and maintain accurate financial information. This role is part of Finance where you'll help us to invest more back into communities and design for strength. What you'll achieve Your key responsibilities will be to: Maintain accurate information on the financial ledgers e.g preparing and posting journals, reconciling accounts and analysing information etc. Support the Project Accountant in the production of monthly stakeholder reports including data on department budgets and live projects Provide information to the Project Accountant that supports with budget setting/monitoring process Assist the Financial Accountant with any ad-hoc tasks Maintain regular contact with customers establishing their requirements Provide accurate information for internal and external auditors What you'll bring Essential skills Educated to O-Level/GCSE Level or equivalent including Maths and English Good standard of IT Literacy including Excel Good literacy and numeracy skills Ability to follow standardised processes Desirable skills An understanding of double entry book-keeping Why Orbit?
