Procurement Manager As Procurement Manager you will be working with the leading supplier of Exotics and Vegetables to the main UK Retailers. They have built a strong business based on consistent quality, innovation, initiative and extraordinary people. Job Summary: We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Procurement Manager to effectively procure our clients product portfolio; vegetables and exotics. The ideal candidate will develop and maintain profitable relationships with suppliers, seek new supply opportunities, manage subordinate procurement colleagues, and work closely with commercial teams to increase market share and profitability. Key Responsibilities: Supplier Relationship Management: Develop and maintain profitable relationships with existing suppliers. Actively seek and develop new supply opportunities to enhance the product portfolio. Build strong, long-term relationships with suppliers to ensure outstanding service levels and quality management. Team Management: Actively manage the performance of direct reports in the procurement team, providing guidance and support. Foster a supportive team environment to ensure effective collaboration and achievement of targets. Strategic and Tactical Procurement: Develop and implement strategic and tactical procurement plans. Regularly revisit procurement plans and explore new supply chain possibilities to optimize procurement processes. Demand and Supply Coordination: Coordinate supplier stocks to meet demand and supply forecasting requirements. Ensure a balanced and efficient supply chain to meet business needs. Collaboration with Commercial Teams: Maintain and manage routine daily relationships with all customers and commercial teams. Work closely with selling teams to understand market demands and align procurement strategies accordingly. Performance and Profitability Management: Develop continuous improvement initiatives to grow profit and meet targets. Manage profitability and ensure procurement activities contribute positively to the company’s financial performance. Reporting and Analysis: Prepare weekly reports on margins, budgets, issues, and improvements. Provide insights and recommendations based on analysis to support decision-making. Quality and Service Excellence: Ensure the highest quality standards are met for all procured products. Maintain outstanding service levels to meet and exceed customer expectations. Market Share Growth: Collaborate with Commercial Managers to increase the company’s market share and explore added value possibilities. Qualifications: * Proven experience in procurement and management, preferably in the Fresh Food, FMCG sector. * Strong strategic and tactical procurement skills. * Excellent relationship-building and negotiation skills. * Effective team management and leadership abilities. * Proficiency in demand and supply forecasting. * Strong analytical and reporting skills. * Outstanding communication and collaboration abilities. * Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
