A global leading sustainable packaging solutions provider that manufactures specialty rigid packaging products used in the food, consumer, agricultural, logistics and environmental markets are seeking a Multi Skilled Engineer in Castleford offering a salary of£38,000 on a continental shift pattern. You will be joining 2,500 colleagues in 20 manufacturing facilities, two corporate&sales offices and three R&D facilities across the U.S., Canada, the U.K., Ireland, Continental Europe, and China. IPL operates in a fast paced and dynamic environment and has significant growth plans, acquiring four businesses within the past year.  In this engineering role, you will: Be responsible for supporting all engineering breakdowns, diagnosing faults as soon as possible and replacement of machine parts. Rectify all hydraulic, electrical, pneumatic and mechanical issues. Enhance, repair and maintain all the Plant, Equipment and Services within the manufacturing facility as per the preventative maintenance schedule and update the maintenance log. Assist with the installation and commission of new machinery and equipment with the support of specialist Tool Room Engineers. Be involved with improvement projects during planned downtime and identifying engineering solutions to maximise efficiency of the plant. Maintain relationships with appropriate plant and services contractors / suppliers and arrange for such suppliers to undertake the engineering works that are required through breakdowns, maintenance and project/ enhancement work. Organise and maintain the job cards database. Order spares / consumables required to support the engineering activities that will be undertaken in house or by a contracted company. Work closely with Production, Tool Change and Tool Room teams to effectively achieve the required engineering outcome. Operate within key Engineering and Health&Safety codes. We are looking for a Multi Skilled Engineer with: The ability to display safe and considerate working practices. Experience in fast-paced environment: subject to numerous priority changes and short-notice activity. Level 3 NVQ or Equivalent in Electrical or Multi Skilled Engineering. Proven working knowledge of plant maintenance and repairs including: Hydraulic, pneumatic, electrical, electronic and mechanical systems. Ability to read and understand electrical, hydraulic and pneumatic drawings. Ability to work under pressure in a fast-growing business and meet tight deadlines. An understanding of health and safety processes and safemethods of working. The ability to work on a rotating shift pattern - continental shift.
