We are currently seeking a SQL Database Lead Engineer to join our team in Remote, Karnātaka (IN-KA), India (IN). Preferred Experience •              Ideal candidate has been supporting traditional server based relational databases (SQL Server) for over 10+ years out of which last 5+ years in public cloud environments (Azure and AWS) •              Database administration experience in SQL Server 2012/2016/above versions •              Strong Installation, deployment, maintenance, troubleshooting experience in high-availability database environments (Always-On, Clustering, Mirroring, etc.). •              Experience performing SQL backups, restores and recovery models •              Able to provide 24*7 shift hours support at L3/L4 level •              Experience in updating KB articles, Problem Management articles, and SOPs/runbooks •              Passion for delivering timely and outstanding customer service •              Great written and oral communication skills with internal and external customers •              Strong ITIL foundation experience •              Ability to work independently, with little or no direct supervision. •              Share domain and technical expertise, providing technical mentorship and cross-training to other peers and team members. •              Work directly with end customer, business stakeholders as well as technical resources. •              Having good knowledge in performance tuning. Basic Qualifications •              10+ years of overall operational experience •              5+ years of Azure/GCP experience as a cloud DBA (SQL) •              Assist in daily administration activities including setup, configuration and monitoring of databases to ensure backups, availability and performance are all maintained to the highest standards. •              Assist the support staff to troubleshoot SQL and any other database errors. •              Ensure all key databases have deep insight monitoring enabled to enable improved capabilities around fault detection •              Perform regular database maintenance when required and ensure databases are backed up according to agreed RTO / RPO information •              Maintenance work to be planned meticulously to minimise/eradicate self-inflicted P1 outages Backup and restores (Backups should be automated with RSV) •              Monitoring database costs regularly and identify strategies to minimize cost as part of internal FinOps practices •              Segregation of duties (User Management – designing User roles and responsibilities) •              Participating in DR (Disaster Recovery)/COB (Continuity of Business) plans as applicable •              Ability to provide technical system solutions, determine overall design direction and provide hardware recommendations for complex technical issues •              Provisioning, deployment, monitoring cloud environment using automation tools like terraform, scripting •              Involved in new solutions design discussions and to recommend suitable, secure, performance optimized database offerings based on business requirements •              Ensure all databases in the AWS and Azure are configured for performance, scale and high availability where required •              Take responsibility of modernization of Clients database estate in the cloud, leveraging open-source technologies and cloud native hosting platforms •              Drive innovation by constantly reviewing latest public cloud platform database service releases •              Ensure security considerations are at the forefront when designing and managing database solutions •              Optimize Query Performance •              Knowledge of Mysql will be a plus. •              Experience with SSIS, SSRS, T-SQL, SynapseDB •              Experience with python / powershell scripting - preferred •              Secondary skill in Oracle/MySQL/PostgreSQL – preferred Good understanding of PAAS and RDS databases Good experience in database migrations from On-prem to Azure/AWS instances.
