**DESCRIPTION** **Key Responsibilities:** + **Creo Software** : Proficient user level for 3D modeling, assembly, and drawing creation. + **Model and Drawing Creation** : + Create complex models and drawings. + Perform checking for drawings and models. + Ensure model and drawing quality. + Create and maintain product specifications utilizing Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T). + Utilize Computer Aided Design (CAD) data management tools for configuration control and to maintain security. + Ensure application of company, industry, national, and international standards. + Process internal engineering work requests. + Engage with required functional areas as needed. + Participate in the maintenance of standards and practices which ensure quality. + Mentor and train less experienced Product Designers. + Check models and drawings prior to release. + Create assemblies to ensure fit to mating parts. + Work with engineering to generate concept models. + Participate in and/or lead Drawing Quality Reviews. **RESPONSIBILITIES** **Competencies:** + **Mechanical Design Modeling and Analysis** : Creates CAD models in accordance with Cummins' standards to represent architectural or product-level system design concepts, enabling completion of various system-level computer analyses such as Dimensional Variation Analysis and Finite Element Analysis. + **Mechanical Design of Mechanical Systems** : Acquires and applies an in-depth understanding of mechanical systems through working knowledge that guides a designer’s ability to create innovative and sound design concepts to meet Cummins and customer expectations. + **Mechanical Design Specification** : Creates complete specifications in the form of solid models, configured engineering bill of materials, and detailed drawings that cross-functionally communicate the information required to manufacture and inspect a product per its design intent. + **Product Configuration and Change Management** : Establishes a baseline of identified product artifacts to be placed under configuration management; releases, tracks, controls, and communicates changes from concept to obsolescence often through work requests. + **Communicates Effectively** : Developing and delivering multi-mode communications that convey a clear understanding of the unique needs of different audiences. + **Decision Quality** : Making good and timely decisions that keep the organization moving forward. + **Drives Results** : Consistently achieving results, even under tough circumstances. + **Instills Trust** : Gaining the confidence and trust of others through honesty, integrity, and authenticity. + **Manages Complexity** : Making sense of complex, highquantity, and sometimes contradictory information to effectively solve problems. + **Self-Development** : Actively seeking new ways to grow and be challenged using both formal and informal development channels. + **Values Differences** : Recognizing the value that different perspectives andcultures bring to an organization. **QUALIFICATIONS** **Education, Licenses, Certifications:** + High school diploma, certificate of completion of secondary education, or equivalent experience in an appropriate STEM field is required. + Regionally applicable certification ora two-year Associate's Degree from an accredited college or university in a relevant field of study may be required. + This position may require licensing for compliance with export controls or sanctions regulations. **Experience:** + Requires significant relevant work experience orspecialized skills obtained through education, training, or on-the-job experience. **Job** Engineering **Organization** Cummins Inc. **Role Category** Hybrid **Job Type** Office **ReqID** 2411579 **Relocation Package** No
