**DESCRIPTION** This dual customer/product-focused developing leadership position serves as the expert technical liaison between OEMs and represents our customers during new product development programs. Applying Cummins’ products to customer vehicles requires the development of technical specifications, implementing new design configurations, and delivering high-performance, low-cost equipment and system solutions integrated with customers’ products in various applications. Integrating high-quality and optimized customer solutions requires interaction with sales and marketing teams. **Key Responsibilities:** + Obtains input and negotiates with Subject Matter Experts and Value Package Introduction (VPI) Teams and delivers product data and installation requirements to Application Engineers and OEMs. + Uses systems knowledge and expertise to make decisions in the areas of product selection, design, and integration that impact OEM machine performance, optimization, and quality. + Creates, manages, improves, and applies processes such as Installation Quality Assurance, OEM integration, and product selection. + Develops strong working relationships with customer technical counterparts to serve as their primary liaison for technical support and problem resolution. + Serves as a local authority in product, application, and market knowledge to support OEM product selection and equipment design. + Drives and manages system-level requirements during the translation of customer needs and "voice of the customer" into functional product requirements. + Leads and participates in technical meetings within mechanical, electrical, and software design teams. + Creates and manages project documentation, including Scope of Work (SOW) documents, Software Design documents, Test Plans, and Project Plans. + Develops safety assessment plans for various functions and prepares documentation for safety audits and certification processes. + Leads problem resolution efforts for complex systems, providing technical guidance and decision-making in ambiguous situations. + Coaches and mentors junior engineers, project managers, and cross-functional team members. **RESPONSIBILITIES** **Skills, and Experience:** + Overall 12+ years of industry experience, with: + 5+ years of experience in getting design documents approved by various Indian Railway Factory/RDSO. + 2+ years of experience in conducting integrated system testing for Vande Bharat/EMU/MEMU. + Experience in preparing vehicle requirements, system requirements, and interfacecontrol documents for Train Control and Management Systems (TCMS). + Strong expertise in creating technical documentation, including SOW documents, Software Design documents, Test Plans, and Project Plans. + Demonstrated experience in conducting and leading technical meetings across mechanical, electrical, and software design teams. + Knowledge and experience in developing safety assessment plans and preparing documentation for safety audits and certifications. + Experience in leading and participating in integrated system testing for rail transportation projects. + Proficiencyin MS Office tools. **Competencies:** + **Machine Integration and Optimization:** Combines various parts or sub-systems to achieve the best output for customers, ensuring performance, reliability, cost efficiency, and quality. + **Product Application Support:** Ensures accurateand complete technical content is available to support customers and business needs. + **Product Function Modeling, Simulation, and Analysis:** Utilizes computational tools and methods to predict product performance relative to system requirements. + **Product Installation Quality:** Applies installation best practices and ensures compliance with Cummins' processes to minimize rework and optimize product integration. + **Product Problem Solving:** Identifies and resolves product issues using structured problem-solving methodologies. + **Technical Customer Management:** Serves as the technical interface for customers, providing engineering data, documentation, and training. + **Builds Networks:** Establishes formal and informal relationships within and outside the organization. + **Communicates Effectively:** Delivers multi-mode communications tailored to different audiences. + **Cultivates Innovation:** Develops new and improved processes to enhance organizational success. + **Customer Focus:** Builds strong customer relationships and provides customer-centric solutions. + **Decision Quality:** Makes sound and timely decisions to keep projects moving forward. + **Manages Ambiguity:** Navigates uncertainty and unclear situations effectively. + **Manages Complexity:** Analyzes and simplifies complex information for problem-solving. + **Optimizes Work Processes:** Continuously improves efficiency and effectiveness.+ **Values Differences:** Recognizes and leverages diverse perspectives and cultural insights. **QUALIFICATIONS** **Qualifications:** + Bachelor's degree in Engineering or an appropriate STEM field is required.
