Undertake design appraisal and statutory review activities within agreed parameters, including budget constraints and contractual requirements. Conduct activities in compliance with internal procedures, accreditation schemes, legislation, and industry standards. Suggest improvements to service delivery effectiveness by changing processes or work scope to reduce appraisal effort where applicable. Coach and mentor less experienced colleagues as agreed with the line manager. Assess and recommend the time and value of work to be undertaken for internal or external clients within an agreed fee and cost structure. Undertake administrative tasks as required, following current processes and procedures. Pursue continuous professional development and maintain a high level of discipline, knowledge, and awareness. Assist in service delivery improvement by communicating internal and external client feedback as appropriate. A degree or equivalent in engineering or physical science from a tertiary organization recognized by Lloyd's Register (minimum of two years program), or qualifications from a marine or nautical institution and relevant sea-going experience as a certificated ship's officer or engineer. Proficiency in the English language appropriate to the work. Understanding and experience of working with Statutory activities. Experience in design appraisal work and statutory activities, with a particular focus on MARPOL Good understanding of the maritime industry. Strong technical background in a related industry (preferred). Excellent time management, planning, and organizational skills with the ability to multitask. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Ability to prioritize workload and work under pressure. Proactive problem solver with a flexible attitude and ability to remain calm under pressure. Energetic, responsive team player with an interest in safety and a willingness to take initiative. Experience and ability to work with people from different nationalities and cultures.
