Bechtel is seeking to expand its decades long relationship with Reliance by providing Project Management Consultant (PMC) Services and Engineering Procurement and Construction Management (EPCM) Services for offsites and utilities (OSBL) for a multi-billion-dollar upgrade / expansion of existing petrochemical facilities in India. Reliance plans to augment its existing petrochemical facilities in Dahej, Gujarat, and Nagothane, Maharashtra, to expand its PVC capacity. The PMC Services will be led out of India with personnel deployed in Mumbai region, the project sites in India, as well as several key contractor locations across India. The EPCM Services for OSBL will be led out of Bechtel’s India offices. This position will be based in Navi Mumbai. In this role, you will lead the design and development of methods for the manufacture, molding, and utilization of construction materials for large projects. You will analyze materials, develop conceptual designs, lead material selection, plan and conduct work, and review operating data. Your technical expertise will ensure that issues with complex materials, welding, and corrosion are addressed.  Major Responsibilities: Plans and conducts independent material engineering work requiring judgment in the evaluation, selection, application and adaptation of material engineering techniques, procedures, and criteria on a medium size project or assignment in support of a global business unit​  Leads the design, development, and modification of processes and methods for the manufacture, molding, and utilization of metallic, plastic, composite and other materials in construction and production of hardware, electronic components and structures​  Analyzes materials and material components to establish mechanical and physical properties​  Reviews operating data, conducts experimental tests and evaluates results​  Communicates complex materials/corrosion issues and recommends solutions to upper management​  Develops conceptual designs for material engineering projects or projects having specialized or unique requirements​  Prepares/oversees the preparation of MET scope in accordance with project scope, schedule, and budget constraints​. Supports preparation of project estimates, staffing needs and schedules​  Interprets regulations, codes, standards, criteria, and performance data​  Mentors junior material engineering personnel by providing on-the-job training for their professional development​.Provides input to and participates in special technical educational and training programs as directed​  Education and Experience Requirements: Requires a bachelor's degree (or international equivalent) and 10-13 years of relevant experience or 14-17 years of relevant work experience​ Required Knowledge and Skills: Establish metallurgical requirements for equipment and piping Develop/assess technical specifications for materials, welding, nondestructive examination, and corrosion control Support to engineering disciplines in review of data sheets and requisition packages Review of materials content in technical bids Provide post award technical/quality assurance support to project Support the project through construction and commissioning phases Review and check work of other MET specialists, as assigned Total Rewards/Benefits: For decades, Bechtel has worked to inspire the next generation of employees and beyond!
