The purpose of this role is to provide technical expertise, manage internal and external customer, addressing inquiries and providing guidance, often involving customer support, training, and collaboration with various teams.
You will be instrumental to support the growth of the cell culture, bioprocess, cell and gene therapy, and drug discovery product portfolios of Corning Lifesciences. In this role, you will build technical credibility with customers by providing scientific and strategic support for implementation of Corning products and platforms.
You will serve as the customer’s primary technical point of contact and ensure their overall satisfaction with the products, services, and support. The activities are mainly for technical responses, technical seminars/workshops, reports, surveys along with application/sales team. You will need in-depth knowledge of mammalian cell culture, biotechnology markets as well as research and technology trends.
Day to Day Responsibilities:
Provide technical support to customers regarding application questions, troubleshooting advice, and product selection via e-mails, phone calls and customer visits.
Maintain close relationships with cross functional teams to support business targets, identify trends and opportunities, and resolve technical queries that customers are facing using our products.
Work with life sciences application team to find and close bioprocess, media, and advanced surface sales opportunities by providing solutions that meet/exceed financial targets.
Maintain and improve knowledge databases and other technical resources.
Participate in product and application trainings, seminars, events to stay updated with new technologies.
Provide in-depth pre- and post-sales support of key products in the form of technical briefs, on-site product demonstration/trainings.
Establish and leverage technical credibility to meet customer expectations.
Contribute to development of applications knowledge, experimental designs, and technical documents.
Provide market insight and product feedback.
Travel Requirements:
Bachelor’s with relevant experience or Master’s degree or Ph. D in a sciences discipline (biotechnology, bioengineering, or biological sciences, Biochemistry, etc.)
Required Years and Area of Experience:
Minimum 7+ years of microbial culture, cell culture/Bioassay/Cancer Biology/3D Cell culture/Bioprocess experience.
Minimum 2+ years of large-scale production and/or industry experience.
Familiarity with adherent and suspension technology for scale up/scale, Bioreactor experience a plus.
Proven track record of developing and executing cell culture process development protocols.
Good understanding of basic cell culture research and technology trends including Cancer Biology, Cell and gene Therapy market and trends.
Knowledge of the drug development process from pre-clinical to clinical phases.
Multi-tasking experience, flexibility, and understanding of the business impact to address immediate priorities and manage deadlines with longer-term projects and strategic initiatives.
Ability to take day-to-day operational decisions related to service quality, customer support, and balancing short- and long-term commercial impact and customer expectations.
Desired Experience / Qualifications / Skills:
MS degree in a technical discipline, preferably in biotechnology/biological sciences.
5+ years Bioprocess R&D / production experience.
Experience with vaccine and/or viral vector (AAV, Adenovirus, and/or Lentivirus) production a plus
Experience working with CMOs and managing projects.
Knowledge of downstream processing of Bipharmaceuticals
Proficient in English.
Flexibility in schedule and be able to travel within assigned regions.
Good organizational skills, including efficiency, punctuality, and collaboration in a team environment.
Exceptional communication skills – the ability to communicate internally and externally across all management levels.
Ability to work across disciplines and in a team-based environment.
Good interpersonal skills, including presentation, persuasion, and influence.
