Research Assistant 12 month term position This is an opportunity to be a part of our Canola Trait Integration team in Winnipeg, Canada. In this role, you will play a vital part in our research efforts focused on canola research and improvement.   Bayer is committed to a flexible hybrid working environment. This is a 12-month term position, based out of the Winnipeg, MB lab.   What you will do: Manage day-to-day organization and maintenance of growth room projects, including seeding, transplanting, pollination, and harvesting Maintain plant care, disease, and insect control in growth rooms Conduct detailed record-keeping, molecular marker tissue sampling, chemical spraying, and other technical tasks Ensure workplace tidiness and orderliness Train temporary employees as needed Collaborate closely with research staff to implement process improvements Participate in document creation and process reviews related to job activities Uphold Quality Management System (QMS) and safety standards Assist in other projects and perform additional duties as required   Who you are: Degree or diploma in agricultural/biological science or a related field, or equivalent Proficiency in using Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, TEAMS and Sharepoint Excellent written and verbal English communication skills Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary research team Highly motivated with a results-oriented approach and the ability to work both independently and in teams Strong attention to detail and organizational skills for prioritizing daily tasks Flexibility and willingness to learn new procedures A Manitoba Pesticide Applicator License is an asset   What we offer: Competitive compensation and rewards package Collaborative, diverse and inclusive culture Career development and global opportunities Work-life flexibility programs such as flex hours, employee discounts, volunteer days, wellness, and other employee offerings   Bayer is committed to fostering, cultivating and preserving a culture of Inclusion and Diversity.
