Number of positions available: 3 NOC Group: Plasterers, drywall installers and finishers and lathers Job Title: Drywall Installer and Finisher Job Location: Varies from contract to contract. Job Duties: · Measure, cut and fit drywall sheets for installation on walls and ceilings. · Trims rough edges from wallboard to maintain even joints, using knife. · Position and secure sheets to metal or wooden studs or joists into specified position, using hand tools, portable power tools, or adhesive. · Measures and marks cutting lines on framing, drywall, and trim, using tape measure, straightedge or square, and marking devices. · Fill joints, nail indentations, holes and cracks with joint compound using trowel and broad knife. · Installs blanket insulation between studs and tacks plastic moisture barrier over insulation. · Tape over joints using taping machine and embed tape in compound. · Smooth out excess compound and allow coat to dry. · Removes plaster, drywall, or paneling, using crowbar and hammer. · Apply successive coats of compound and sand seams and joints. · Reads blueprints and other specifications to determine method of installation, work procedures, and material and tool requirements.
